Since July of 2014, The Penthouse Innovation Institute - one of Upper Manhattan’s foremost centers of invention, experimentation, and collaboration - has hosted creative Residencies in order to foster artistic and intellectual collaboration. These Residency events have run the gamut from collaborative pizza-baking to Disney sing-alongs and this year once again, with the US Presidential Election of 2016 2020 2024 bearing down on us all, the Penthouse Innovation Institute (PII) is proud to host a series of special Residency events, The PResidency 2024, which aims to serve as a part political forum, part educational platform, and part raucous caucus of a party, right up to Election Night itself.

Our Story

The Penthouse Innovation Institute, or PII, was founded in September 2013 by several engineers, entrepreneurs, and artists from The City College of New York with the purpose of creating a space for creative thought and innovation. Originally located at Amsterdam Avenue and 140th Street, the PII moved to Fort Washington Avenue and 178th Street in June of 2015, where it maintained a physical presence until January 2024. The PII boasts a myriad assortment of technologies and skills, including half a dozen 3D printers, an electronics prototyping suite, and even small-batch beer brewing equipment.
